      Well don’t give up. LiFePo4 battery systems offer many decisive advantages over gas generators. Yes it’s a lot of info and I think these server rack batteries are too complicated, but try to learn how these systems are put together maybe with “dumb” batteries with a simpler BMS. You got this.

    • @my_channel_44
      @my_channel_44 4 часа назад

      @@JamesAmbrose48James is right! Get yourself a simple Growatt or EG4 3k, 5k or 6k from CurrentConnected, and about 10kw of batteries (5kw 48v packs are the smallest size). Skip getting the LCD display-on-battery, if it's an option, to save a little money. For more savings, do a DIY build with tested used packs and a DIY BMS/case. Your generator runs at a sweet spot: 50-80% load. You can figure out what's best. You can then program the 3k to fire it up when the batteries get down to 20%, and turn off when they are at 80%, and set your preferred charge rate, which is equivalent to the load on the generator. You'll have far better fuel usage on the generator because it won't spend any time idling, and 95% of the time, even without any solar, it won't be running. See that start/stop switch on the dash? You can interface that harness with the dry contact relay on the 3k, and it can start/stop your generator, as needed. LFPo are 99% efficient. Even with charging losses, it's still the high 90's.

    These BMS's have temp info, but instead of getting complicated by tying into the RS485, you can get an inkbird 308 (w or wo wifi) and have it tell you if your temps adjacent to the battery are getting out of line. Iirc these do not have an internal heater. If you stick a battery directly on your floor, first jam the inkbird probe underneath it, so during the winter you'll get an alert if it gets too cold. These will shut-off the loads and charging at freezing.

    How long are the terminal bolts? The EG4's came with bolts that were too short, so by the time you got more than the provided interlink cable connected, you didn't have enough thread engagement to properly torque them with any additional connections. Swapping them out with longer ones, body bolts from a toyota, worked 😂. Make sure you size your terminal bolts, and the depth of the inner threads, and have on-hand longer ones to accomodate all your connections.

    • @RVwithTito

      @@RVwithTito It's a metric bolt. 6mm? That's too short if the flat part of the crimp lugs are 1.5mm. Got to check the depth of threads: I bet even with a single 1mm thick supplied tie-in cable, there is not full engagement.

    Those are good. As are SOK, EG4, Trophy... I have 2x 5kw EG4's just stacked on the floor under the seat. For all you mobile platform people, you need 200ah (of) cells of LFPO (@48v) aka 10kw of batteries, to properly run the smallest AOI 3k, appropriate for a mobile platform, like the EG4-AIO 3k, GROWATT 3k, etc.

    • @my_channel_44
      @my_channel_44 3 дня назад

      The downside of a 10kw+ single battery, is it weighs 210+ lbs. Each 5kw like this, usually weighs in at 110lbs (50kg).

    • @my_channel_44
      @my_channel_44 3 дня назад

      This battery and a 3k AIO, will power up a 1-ton unit/12,000 BTU, typical mobile roof air conditioner, barely. With a soft-start, yes - no problem. To avoid passthrough surges on your generator, charge through an EG4 Chargeverter, or a couple (or more) IONIC LFPO chargers (they can be stacked, 10 amps ea).

    Exceptional video, you are very articulate and able to explain the water heater troubleshooting process so well. I bought a used RV, installed a new water pump then discovered the water heater wouldn't turn on. I read the owners manual, then the Atwoods manual and neither offered a troubleshooting guide. After watching your video I tested the thermal fuse, it was functional so I reinstalled it and the water heater turned on. I'm going to get extra thermal fuses. plus a spare thermostat and fuse. Thank you! P.S. I hope you have a video on troubleshooting the generator..... The next project, after I replace an exhaust fan and clean the AC coils.

      Great! Glad it helped. Sounds like you had a loose connection on the fuse. Easy peazy :) Here's a generator video from a while back ruclips.net/video/U72Zmk0BF-o/видео.html I also have one even older for oil changes and then another removing the generator completely. Starting issues are usually fuel related (carburetor, fuel pump or fuel filter). If it's showing error codes (blinking lights on the start switch) the it might be electrical or controller board. All of those things can be replaced. Good luck.

I am totally baffled by what could be happening here. I believe I have all of the winterization valves turned correctly too! When I sanitized my system prior to using it I of course let my water heater tank fill as part of this and then drained it again as recommended. Only thing I messed with is removing the PRV to allow me to pour vinegar into the tank from the top to let it sit overnight and descale my tank for calcium deposits. First of all, the thanks for the video on replacing the awning motor. Followed all the instructions, including the rush to do wiring and didn’t notice the coupler still sitting on the table. LOL. The jacks on our 2019 NEWMAR Baystar died. The contractor was toast but easily replaced and solved the problem. Contractors are most often confused with relays. Great video.

    I didn't need a basic e-bike tutorial, just a review, so this video was way too long. This class foldable e-bike has lots of compromises, it's not a good all rounder bike. Tito didn't need to bother about the class 3 mod or whine about his pedals were going too fast at 28 mph. The Ride1Up Portola is another take on this e-bike. Foldable, higher capacity battery, more fork travel, 180mm hydraulic brakes, and looks better, but not as nice a display. Meh, they're all made in China.

    It is a bug with these machines that they can run then shut off after 20 mins for no reason IF the oil level is at full. There are several videos on this here on YT. Trick is to only fill 1/4 above ADD mark on dipstick. I had this issue, drained out some oil from full down to 1/4 above add and generator ran for hours as intended. Dont trust me? Search for yourself.

    How did you get the awning out some to work on it? My buddies is stuck closed, and all that happens when you click the button, i can hear the motor trying to move but nothing happens.
